Being valued on the treatment team isn’t about titles or recognition—it’s about contribution. Physicians, psychiatrists, program directors, and administrators value services that improve outcomes, support engagement, and reduce barriers to care.
Recreational therapy adds value by reinforcing skills, observing real-world functioning, improving engagement, and supporting continuity of care. When RTs communicate these contributions clearly and consistently, their role becomes obvious.
Value grows through collaboration, clinical communication, and alignment with shared goals.
