Book Title: Boss Bitch: A Simple 12-Step Plan to Take Charge of Your Career
Author: Nicole Lapin
Date Published:*March 21, 2017
Publisher:Crown Business

Danny’s Star Rating: ★★★☆☆

The author encouraged men to read her book. Being a male, I wasn’t the target audience. I loved her overall messave which is taking responsibilty for your own life.

I regret to say that I didn’t finish reading this book.

Quick Summary:

Boss Bitch by Nicole Lapin is a bold foray into the world of career development, targeted at women who are poised to take control of their professional lives. With its vibrant, no-nonsense language, the book acts as a clarion call to those looking to make their mark in their respective fields.

In this engaging guide, Lapin divides her insightful plan into 12 distinctive steps aimed at empowering women to become their own boss. From honing personal branding to mastering the art of negotiation, Lapin furnishes readers with practical strategies rooted in her own experiences as a trailblazing financial journalist and network television anchor.

The author does not shy away from discussing the intricate balancing act between multiple roles that women often have to navigate. She delivers truths with candor and injects humor, making the read not only instructive but also entertaining. Lapin encourages women to embrace their unique strengths, to marry their professional ambitions with their personal identity, and, importantly, to craft a career path that leads to financial independence and fulfillment.

What makes Boss Bitch stand out is its undiluted focus on actionable advice. Its exercises and personal anecdotes render it less a lecture and more a mentorship session in paperback form.

One of the clear messages of the book is that being a ‘Boss Bitch’ is about steering one’s career ship with assertiveness and intelligence, regardless of the industry or profession one is in. It is about claiming and celebrating one’s accomplishments, setting boundaries, and never apologizing for aspiring to greater heights.

In summary, “Boss Bitch: A Simple 12-Step Plan to Take Charge of Your Career” serves as a stimulating read for those looking to inject some dynamism into their career progression. It is a manifesto for modern-day professional women ready to claim the title of “boss” in all areas of their lives. Whether you’re climbing the corporate ladder or embarking on a solo venture, Nicole Lapin’s advice may just be the pep talk you need to turn your career into a roaring success.
