This is just a quick reminder that the Recreation Therapy Program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), is seeking an outstanding faculty member and visionary leader for an open rank, nine-month tenure-track position beginning August 2020. Upon initial appointment, this position will also serve as the Recreation Therapy Program Coordinator.
The Recreation Therapy program at UNCW is more than 35 years old and is currently seeking accreditation by CARTE. The program has five full-time and six part-time faculty members. The curriculum includes 15 required RT content courses and two field placements; electives in aquatic therapy, adapted sports, child life, and assistance dog training; as well as a 4+1 combined BA in RT and MS in Applied Gerontology. The program is a recipient of ATRA’s Excellence in Education Award.
